How long will therapy take?
Insurance companies will offer you a number of sessions on your policy (commonly between 6-10). If you are self-funding we can agree either an open ended programme with a notice period or a specific number of sessions.
What about confidentiality ?
I take confidentiality very seriously. Any notes I take are safely stored, be it electronic or in paper. There are very rare occasions when concerns about your health and wellbeing (or that of others) means the law may require me to disclose certain details to organisations or professionals who can help you. All of this is explained in the therapy information leaflet that I will give to you after our initial conversation.
Are you registered with private insurance providers?
Yes, I am registered with Aviva, AXA PPP Healthcare, Vitality Health and WPA.
How much will it cost?
If you are self funding, fees are £90 per hour.
If you are referred through your health policy, invoices will be sent to your health provider directly. However, please be aware there may be an excess on your policy that you will need to pay directly to me.
Payment for sessions will be made in advance of your session by bank transfer. You will be charged if you do not give 48 hour notice to cancel.
When will you offer face to face sessions?
I am sorry that I cannot give a timeframe for this given the current uncertainties.
I have a chronic condition/pain/illness/problem – how can you help me?
There are indeed problems that are not easily solved and some that are not at all ‘solvable’. For example, some chronic illnesses cannot be ‘solved’. That doesn’t mean, though, that nothing can be done about how the problem impacts you psychologically. In our work we can draw on psychological approaches that can help you live as fully as possible with your condition.
When are you available ?
Clinic times:
Monday – Friday: 7 pm to 9 pm
Some daytime Monday appointments may be available from 8 am
Psychology is all common sense, right?
Which raises the question why people still struggle with weight, alcohol, procrastination and so on. If it were so simple we wouldn’t have the problems that we have.
